As a creative, these essays are a quintessential reflection of my work. I write, film, and edit these vlog-style videos not just as a creative outlet but as a way to make sense of my life. They are deeply personal and an honest-to-god attempt to capture my experience as a human.

To freely flourish (2024)

directed by Victor Wu

It is 2017 in Sydney Australia, in the height of the Marriage Equality debate and the word 'Love' is everywhere. But for Peter, an Australian-born Chinese adolescent exploring his sexuality, it is the meaning of love and family itself that he is grappling with, against the background of his parents' constant bickering and his father's aloofness resembling nothing of the ideals he sees in the political campaigns. This is when a new piano teacher enters his life and changes everything. She inspires him to find his own meaning through his passion for music.

When I worked at ViewSonic (circa 2021 - 2023), I kickstarted and managed the company online newsletter - OVERVIEW. It was a quarterly magazine that collated all that occurred in previous three months. I oversaw the project from pre-design all the way to distribution and data-analysis. I’m not just a creative, I’m also a competent corporate girlie.

Here are some snippets of each of the issues I worked on:

As a technical writer, I was tasked with creating a unique product guide video. Drawing inspiration from "Celebrity Reads Mean Tweets," I read negative reviews from Amazon and directly addressed customer concerns. This approach was a fun way to provide information and to give product feedback.

Other Works

As part of my degree, I interned as a production assistant at a film production company in Taiwan during the COVID-19 pandemic, specialising in nature documentaries. My primary role was supporting production days, contributing to over 20 shoots in just four months. I operated lighting and camera equipment and managed various administrative tasks, including transcribing interviews, organising production schedules, coordinating shoot logistics, and assisting with festival submissions. Notably, a documentary I worked on—Pacific War Memories: Yilan Under the Shadow of World War II—won the Long Shorts category at the Houston International Film Festival.
